It's a fun place. It's not too far from London. The pancake and sausages are really good. Those are the only things they serve though. So if you want to eat anything else, bring your own. You can also buy some other maple syrup products.
Very interesting spot where you can see both the old way and the modern way of producing maple syrup. Reasonable prices for admission, as well as for the food (pancakes, sausages, coffee, etc and they use their own syrup on the pancakes!). You can also purchase their syrup to take home with you. Great way to spend a few hours while also getting some fresh air. Just be prepared to deal with some mud in the parking area.
Like many young families, we've been to lots of maple tours and festivals. This is by far the best one we've ever visited.
Run by a service club, the admission rates are incredible ($8 for our family, cash only). The sugar bush itself is beautifully maintained. There are lots of volunteers explaining things, and working displays of the various ways maple syrup was made over the ages. This culminates in a modern sugar shack which uses reverse osmosis, where we got one of the best and most interesting explanations I've ever heard on the topic.
There's also a pancake pavilion with good pancakes for great prices ($3.50 for two, just last week I had to pay $12 for two pancakes at a conservation area).
All in all, this place is an absolute gem and we will be coming back for sure. A big thanks to the local Kinsmen club for running this operation!
Fun and informative day out learning the process of extracting and making maple syrup. Had a nice plate of pancakes and sausages before walking the trail to check out the trees being tapped.
Only downside is that there isn't much to do. I feel like they could add some activities for the kids, like a climbing frame or games.
Came here with the family and had such an amazing time. It was very cheap for the parking/tour. The staff were very friendly, food for a family of four cost us $9.25. The horse ride to the display was really fun. When we were there there was a first nation display where they were singing and the kids just loved it. Then the story of maple syrup during the tour was so intetesting. We just had to get some maple syrup to bring home. Oh and when we left we smelt like camp fire. Will be returning!
