“We had a great experience at County Road Cafe. My son and my friends 3 sons were out snowmobiling. When we got to County Road Cafe just off the snowmobile trail, they were closed. As it is New Years day. Two of the boys were very cold. We stopped in front of County Road Cafe to warm them up. The owners came out and offered us to come in and warm up. They also served us some warm beverages. This got us all back on the trail and home safe and warm. I would like to thank County Road Cafe staff for all their extended help. We can not thank you enough. We will definetly be returning to try their great food selection.”

“Adorable small cafe right in downtown Hastings. Cozy decor yet what makes the place special is seeing all the locals there. We didn’t try their pizza as we came for breakfast, two days in a row. Breakfast served all day with breakfast special until noon. Excellent omelettes!! Good breakfast sandwiches, on bread or on bagel, your choice. Very good butter tarts and date bars.”

“We came in last night at 5mins to closing. The waitress was very friendly and took our order. I had the Hot turkey sandwich with sweet potato fries and my son had a Banquet burger. Both meals were delicious and served hot. Thanks so much for the great dinner! Definitely worth going back again! The restaurant was well lit and the music was just loud enough. They have a nice patio as well.”

Poached, farm-fresh local eggs, tasty pure-pork sausages, thick ham slice, nicely-seasoned home fries, piping-hot brown toast and a delightful surprise of homemade strawberry jam. “As a traveler passing in town for 24 hours this exceeded my expectations, nice service and atmosphere too. We loved most of the dishes here, especially the fish and the duck breast poutine (pictured). Pizza for the kid wasn’t great and the veal liver and onions had a bit too much wine and not enough salt but otherwise tender. The kitchen was slammed with a single waiter braving 10 tables inside and outside, but this place gets busy for a good reason. Good beer selection too.”

We like that they don't use an abundance of salt...not even on the fries...but garlic is a different story. Hope you like garlic as much as we do!???? “I had the Cesar salad at 52 North, which was very good, filing and appetizing to look at. There was a large amount of food on the plate. The nature of the seating was open, not too crowded, but there was a limited amount of seats. The staff was very friendly and polite, which makes the restaurant more enjoyable. The bathroom was clean but fairly small, only one person at a time. The decor was very pleasing and modern, which made the restaurant look up to date and clean. There was a large variety of food offered , the main focus was the build your own burger. The service was quick, which made me enjoy my meal a lot more. I would recommend this restaurant to other people in this area based on my experience, the biggest factors of the restaurants was how positive the staff was and how quick the service was.”

“A grate place to dine. Food is always hot and well prepared. They offer both a menu and a buffet meal in a spacious dining area. If desired they also have an area where they can cater to reservations. The servers are always happy and polite and are always anxious to oblige. Parking can be a problem as street parking is available or two small parking lots across the busy street. The other shortfall is there is no wheel chair ramp”
