CoBrie International Restaurant & Catering

We liked Cobrie very much. The meals were delicious, the service very good, and the ambience very nice. Busy at lunch and breakfast, quieter at the supper hour. The washrooms are down a flight of stairs, but mall washrooms are nearby if you can't do the stairs. I wish they had home-baked pies and cakes for dessert, but right now all they have are squares, Nanaimo bars and butter tarts. Still, it is a very nice place to eat or have coffee.

Very friendly staff, great atmosphere but I was very disappointed in the meal. I used to go to the old Carlinwood restaurant specifically for their liver and onions. I ordered the liver and onions this time round, hoping they'd preserved the old style. Liver was overcooked and tough, the small scoop of mashed potatoes the best part of the meal. I'm prepared to give them another chance with a different meal so my next review may be better.

Brought the kids here for a birthday meal. First time since the change over. The executive chef Brian came out to discuss the menu with us. What a wonderful character. The appetizers and meals were excellent. Thumbs up from the young folk and from the adults too. Hope this restaurant gets busy and stays put. Love that there is a vegetarian and vegan section to the menu. It was already an awesome dinner, and then they brought out cake for the birthday girl and sang Hapay Birthday! We'll be back.
