What a beautiful space, and we were delighted to enjoy some live music this past weekend. Our server was busy, but still checked in and provided good service. The food was exceptional, the schnitzel especially was so tasty. We also ordered the bratwurst, which came with a nice strong mustard and a light cabbage slaw.

Had a great brunch experience today! Friendly staff and food was extremely tasty. It is also a good idea to make a reservation when possible. If dropping in, try before 12pm for brunch or as early as possible. Looking forward to dropping by again another time for supper! Thanks!

Great little hidden secret. Well it was for me :-). Good wine selection. Great selection on food. Ended up choosing the short rib. Fall off the bone. . Highly recommended. The desert selection is just as great. Try the Black Forest cake, staked miles high, bet you can’t eat it all. :-). Service is just as excellent. Dinner with friends , a dinner date or a family outing, give it a try.

Food is very good, beer is very good, service is good too, but why would the owner put a piano in a 54 seat space? Music can’t be anything but loud in this room. The pianist was good, but I was seated next to the piano and had to cover my ears. We moved to the bar to finish our dinner. Server took our second beers off the tap, it was appreciated.

Apparently Thursday-Saturday is live music. And people come to the restaurant just to listen to it. So, it was light jazz. Who is listening to this type of music? There weren’t many customers under 30. Mostly 40-50. People this age like to have it quiet. We’re half deaf already and don’t need to become totally deaf.

I will come back but not during music time. But then, I usually stay home Sunday-Wednesday.

FANTASTIC Restaurant!!! The food was beyond compare, literally the very best Waffle I've ever had!

1. The Waffle - it was supple and velvety. Soft and it promises that no matter what, this is going to be an amazing meal

2. The Arugula - fresh and crispy, full of flavour

3. The Egg - perfectly poached, it was soft as a cloud, dense but not heavy and the yolk was runny but not messy and not overcooked.

4. The German Sausage - A visit to flavour-town! It was full of meaty goodness and will forever hold a spot as one of the best Bratwursts I have EVER had.

TO BE CLEAR. A visit to Ottawa is NOT complete if you don't visit this restaurant. I cannot say enough great things. Hats off to the Chef for the incredible meal and the owners for creating such a warm, welcoming and charming environment. I live in Toronto and WILL be travelling back JUST to visit this restaurant again!
