Dunn's Famous Bank Street Deli

The front entrance at Dunn's has a small indoor water feature, to ensure that you leave your troubles at the door.

I stopped in to have Breakfast on several Saturdays over a period of a month and a half. It wasn’t very busy at 8:30 and didn’t take long to fill up by 10:00.

Sometimes, I dined solo to relish some much needed me time. It is so nice to read the morning paper with the sunlight cascading in from the many large windows scattered throughout the Dining Room. And on occasion, I enjoyed the company of a friend.

I headed to the washroom and came across a separate dinning area that is designed for young families. Parents can linger over coffee after their meal because there is a comfortable family room nook complete with sofas and a large screen TV. It brought back very fond memories of watching Saturday morning cartoons.

What a great marketing idea and so helpful to young parents, as it gives them the opportunity to maintain a healthy form of social interaction which otherwise may not be possible.

The service is prompt, courteous and polite. And the food is delicious. The Omelette is soft, flavourful and golden in colour. The Omelette is prepared the French way rolled, as opposed to folded over. I did take away for my son and he gave the waffle sandwich two thumbs up. They make fantastic poached eggs and the bacon is crisp, yet still holds its shape.

When there has been an issue, I have brought up concerns with the staff and found that this seems to be a good way to communicate.

My concerns were acknowledged and rectified right away. After all, mistakes happen and if and how they are corrected is what matters most of all.

At some point, I must come in and try the Miss Montreal Platter, their West Coast Burger along with some of their salads.

A bit of a throwback to the steakhouses of the 50s and 60s, I assume because the building dates back to that era, but it's nice!

Food is very good, the smoke meat sandwich is excellent as are the fries and coleslaw.

I have to say, the platter is too much for one person and the other option isn't enough - only the sandwich. They need a happy medium.

Excellent service. Food always bountiful and hot. And they always honour my asks like trade potatoes for tomatoes with a smile. Deserts are wonderful! Thank you again for a great lunch!!

I have been there twice around lunchtime. Great friendly service. The Jumbo Breakfast was good but the portion is too much to finish in one sitting. I like the Smoked Meat Omelette. I got a coupe of egg shells in my omelette, but overall it is delicious. I'd order that again.
