JM Walkley Bar & Restaurent

Went for lunch. While the owner was very kind, or whoever that was, the rest of the experience was lacking. I do enjoy 'rough around the edges' bars but there is a line.

Walked in and the lights were off and the place had flies.

So I'm sitting there and the 4 people at the bar start discussing politics, oh God. I will not write what was said but it was racist and kinda scary. I hesitated to say something but I remembered what part of town I was in a decided not to. Some girl rolls in with a wheelchair and people at the bar are like "she doesn't even need a chair, what is she doing". She proceeded to stand up, and demand a pint and then walk to where the servers go , and ring the bell . "CAN I GET A BLUE!". She was there for all of thirty seconds. Buddy runs out with a Blue.

The food was meh, the service was good. If I go back I'll try the pizza.

Feel bad for the guy running the place that day, he has a very thick skin and I get why he walks around with his ear buds in.

My husband and I go here sometimes for drink and a quick game of pool. We love the staff, they are so friendly it's like going to a friend's house. The food is good quality, all fresh and well made.

Just stopped in for a sub. Saw this little hole in the wall and said to myself "Hey why not!" I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED... This place is your average hole in the wall bar/restaurant, but it has more of a dive bar feel (this is actually a good thing sometimes)..

My sub was fantastic, has that personal touch handmade taste to it that simply can't be replicated by large chains.

Recommend if you happen to be near here, stop in for a beer and a sub for sure! You won't regret it!

Fantastic experience with the new owners there, they are so friendly and the food is amazing. Do not hesitate to go and order some great food and have an amazing experience!
