La Porto A Casa

This is probably my favorite Italian place in Ottawa. It's not too pricey and tastes amazing! I could sit and eat everything on the menu every day!

This restaurant was recommended to me by my brother in law who is acquainted with the husband/owner. Both my husband and I had such amazing experience that we dined here as much as we can (hard to get a table). However, after I had my baby, we resorted to ordering take-out since dining with a newborn just isn't ideal. I must say that the quality of service in-dine vs take out, there is a definite difference. Dining at the restaurant, staff are kind and welcoming. Whereas, ordering take-out, I get a lot of passive aggressive attitude. As well, there are a lot of restrictions on what kind of pasta to order and the amount of desert you can order (allow only one). Foods and desserts here are good. So, I definitely recommend in-dining experience only.

Loved the food and the service. Meatballs and sauce were amazing. Caesar salad was good but the croutons were overly salty. The pasta was lovely and dessert homemade and delicious. My only complaint was the chairs which were uncomfortable after our hour and half dinner.

Always a great experience at La Porto A Casa. We were here for dinner on a Monday night and Clair was great. Staff there are welcoming and friendly. Service was on point, Clair was very tentative and pleasant. Food is always delicious and never disappointing. Try the caramel cheesecake, you won’t regret it!
