Unique dining experience to say the least! If you've never tried this place, you should.
Prices are fair, based on market value. If you ask for spicy, you get spicy! So if you're averse to heat, I recommend starting with the not spicy option.
We had fun, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere good.
While in town for work I happened across the Captain’s Boil. Great food. Amazing service by “Dija” she was very accommodating and made me feel at home.
100% would recommend. It a fun vibe. Got to say the only reason it didn’t get 5 stars was cause they need to make Cajun Fries a standard side rather than a Premium side. They’re just potatoes. ;) just sayin.
Great food, just really messy. Especially if you go at lunch on a work day and didn't know what you were getting into. It took almost as long to wash up after as it did for them to eat!
The food itself was awesome and super quick. Not even 5 mins from the time it was ordered and it was on the table.
My favorite seafood go to place in Ottawa. Come check this place out for a more hands on approach to having your your meal. Gloves, bibs and utensils are provided but I wouldn't advise coming down wearing something you don't want to ruin in case things get too messy. This location has excelllent service and overall dining atmosphere. Highly recommended!
This is not a restaurant for the fastidious eater! But, it's a unique experience: your meat, side dish and sauce are served all together in a plastic bag. You lift everything out and eat it with your fingers. (Vinyl gloves and plastic bibs are provided.)
I got a entire (but small) snow crab with a very generous serving of lotus root; my wife a dozen super-jumbo shrimp with okra. Everything was top quality and perfectly cooked. Contrary to some reports, our service was prompt and warm.
I was surprised that there were no small spoons/spatulas available to dig out the crab meat; I had to make do with a fork tine. The Muzak was in-your-face vocals selected from Spotify; a compromise between west-coast Japanese and east-coast shanties?
I doubt we'll be back, but it was a memorable experience.
