渥京大排挡 Small street Restaurant

We have been seeing this restaurant for some time. Yesterday we decided to give it a try. Our love for spicy & authentic food made us more intrigued and I’m glad to say this place was hit for us. The menu was a bit tricky wished there were pictures along the menu for examples. However we like the fact they stay true to their culture and that’s one thing that makes this place even more unique. It definitely not your typical ‘chinese’ restaurant that has sweet and sour chicken and your typical food court options. Get ready to see some options you’ve probably didn’t think of before.

Very tasty but insanely spicy food ask for milder if you cannot take spicy

My bf and I walked into this place “by accident” because we were starving and the Jamaican place around the corner was closed early.

If you can handle some spice, definitely come here. It was delicious and the flavours are authentic, not just deep fried Canadian Chinese food in sweet sauces.

Sure, they have more Chinese writing than English writing on the menu and the decor isn’t the best... but I am paying for tasty food, not ambience.

Plus I didn’t have to ask for “water without ice” because that’s how it was served anyway!! My kind of place. :) We will definitely be back!!

This place is dedicated to serving Chinese customers, mostly university students. They make few concessions to non-Chinese diners. You won't get any 'Canadian Chinese' food here. The food we had tonight was very salty and very spicy. With lots of fat, as well. For what it was, it was very good. The serving staff is quite pleasant, but they are all untrained university students, with little idea of what diners want and need. The menu is in Chinese with tiny English descriptions added. No diet coke! No ice! I've been here about ten times over the last few years. I really enjoy it.
