Chanterelle Bistro

There was a lot of hype around this restaurant but I was left a bit underwhelmed. The atmosphere was really lacking (tight seating, mismatched wall art, some tables were directly under a vent blowing hot/cold air). I liked the variety of menu items offered and the presentation of the dishes, however the flavour fell flat for me. Everything tasted good, but for the price I was not blown away. I think if I were to go back there it would be for a gourmet tea and dessert or glass of wine rather than a full meal.

I had an excellent experience as a guest the new year's eve, the food was lovely and the service was very attentive. More recently Derek helped me organize a dinner service for my dad's birthday and everything was excellent and well thought out. Everyone was very happy with the results. Well done to the whole team.

This is my first experience here and this place did impress me. The food here is amazing and delicious. The customer service here is also excellent and our waiter helped us out quite a bit. I was really impressed and I think that this is the best customer service we received. We surely recommend this place.

We’ve been to Chanterelle a number of times now with family for a variety of reasons. Whether celebrating a milestone or a birthday or just for a night out we’re also extremely happy with our experience. The food is phenomenal and the wine selection substantial. Add in the welcoming service staff and fair prices and you’ve got yourself one of the best spots in Durham!
