“When I first did the assessment with Katrina I was impressed by the questions she asked…some of them not the norm when you think health - like how do you feel after you eat a particular food. Then I attended her presentation after the assessment and was completely blown away by the depth of knowledge she shared about the body and Chinese medicine. It was apparent then that she has a passion for what she does and an incredible wealth of understanding and education. I’m currently seeing Katrina at What’s Good to help correct the imbalances in my energy and body. I decided to work with Katrina for 6 months because as a health coach I understand that all healing takes time and the care and compassion the everyone has at What;’s Good is outstanding. From the hour long treatments that are more than acupuncture - Katrina wants to understand what’s going on in your life, what stressors you’ve had, how you’re sleeping, what changes you’ve noticed - and she does so without judgement and with only my well-being at heart. And BTW the treatments are my hour of rest - my me time the leaves me feeling so refreshed!. The other parts of the program includes the herbs - and yes they actually taste good, along with the delicious bone broth that Charleston makes with love - they are all working - even after 3 months! I feel the changes…many of them in traditional health areas - better sleep, more energy etc. However the best part for me is the feeling of calm within me…of not reacting to situations with angst like I used to, to dealing with an aging parent differently, to being able to release the expectations I had of myself and others. And yes are there other factors involved like eating whole foods, working with my own health coach - and I don’t believe the change within myself would have been as profound without Katrina. “Food is great, always - but I had a particularly nice visit this past Tuesday. My mom and I had visited for dinner to catch up, and had great service. The waitress was efficient and friendly. We did end up having an issue, and when we brought it to our waitress's attention, she was kind and apologetic. The manager himself also came over to introduce himself to us, and to apologize for the issue (which was out of their control) with humour and grace.”

“Laid back place to have a drink and play some pool. Not a lot of places have jukeboxes anymore so it was definitely a unique touch. Bring some change because the jukebox doesn’t give any back, accidentally put in $10, but opportunistic patrons are more than happy to help you up some credits. Good service most of the time, but if you go during quieter hours, they might be a bit less coherent”

“When I was younger this was a great place. The play place took up almost half the establishment. There was lots of variety in the play place and it was lots of fun. About 5 years ago I found out that the play place was essentially cut in half to make room for more seating. This was very disappointing from a child's perspective. More recently I was there after biking for a couple of hours and was very parched. I went in and asked for water. The employee went and got their manager and the manager seemed furious. He reluctantly handed me a small cup and threatened me saying that if I took anything but water he would have me kicked out. I understand that there may be an issue with people stealing drinks but I felt that this was a little excessive.”

“Went here today and was greeted by a nice older couple who couldn't speak English. They were very friendly and used their phone to translate what they were offering. They make a special cold noodle called Liangpi. The noodles were delicate and delicious. They also gave us two free "Chinese hamburgers" to try which consisted of some tasty braised pork between a unique flat bread. Don't let the language barrier stop you from trying this delicious food, it's a gem in a sketchy plaza.”
