Mixed experience.
The bad :
We are 30 and over, and went there after reserving by phone to day before. We only had one option: 8:45 PM. At 10:30, an « army haircut manager lookalike » told us that we had to go. He even called our cab to make sure we were going away. The second we paid, we needed to go. As people who worked in restaurants before, it was rude to treat is like that - we spent over 800$ As a groups for less than 2h.
The Good : Ask for Alejandro. He might be the best sevrer we ever had. He was knowledgeable, nice and genuine. He made us feel special.
The Good part 2: Awesome vegan food.
The Good part 3 : Food was simply amazing. We ordered everything (kind of) in the menu : drinks, starters, tapas, entrees, desserts, shots... it was delicious. Props to the staff.
Place is awesome, but someone has to check his ego at the door.
Cheers !
Just had drinks and entree (wonderful) as we were late and only had an hour to be able to get to the theatre..............and they did it for us. Dinner was terrific and these people are really nice. Next year we won't do this to them so we can get the full treatment. We've been to OliV over the years so we know how wonderful it can be.
This is an excellent restaurant in the Strewn winery. If you do happen to dine there and the weather is good, sitting outside is a must as the view is very nice. The food is excellent. We had the charcuterie board, shrimp toast, goat cheese tart and everything was freshly prepared and tasted awesome. The food is a little on the expensive side but not bad at all. The servers were great and it’s a nice place to just sit and hang out with friends.
After sifting through menus online for restaurants in the area we chose OLiV. We got there earlier than our reservation and they were able to take us. We did have some hiccups, the food seemed to be taking a long time, and I figured it’s fresh so it's taking a while. Both our waiter, Alejandro and then the manager came out and apologized, there was some mishap in the kitchen and assured us the kitchen was working on it. My boyfriend and I said no worries we were relaxing on the patio drinking our lemonades and didn’t even notice. They were so nice about how they handled it and insisted on getting giving us free dessert and coffee. The food was definitely worth our wait it was very delicious. And Alejandro was fantastic, he really was a great server.
We went there for dinner when touring wineries in Niagara on the lake. The restaurant has a patio with a very nice view and ambiance, however it would benefit from removing the spider webs from the railing. Our server was amazing, helpful and friendly. We ordered salad with fresh avocado slices. It had four tiny slices of avocado and 4 slices of orange on a bed of greens. For $18 I was expecting a bit more avocado, if not a whole one than at least a half. The most expensive item on the menu was a 10 oz steak. It was pretty tough and nothing to go back for. The best of dinner was wine and Americano coffee.
