“What a wonderful cozy eatery. A local hotel clerk recommended Matteo’s several years ago when I was in the area on business. I was so impressed by the wood fired brick oven pizza and caprese salad that I have wanted to go back there ever since with my wife. We were in Niagara Falls this week and we drove to Welland for dinner at with my brother and his wife Wednesday evening. We each had something different and each agreed their meal was the best of that particular dish they ever tasted. Matteo himself explained the options to us and offered to modify the dish as we may desire. We so enjoyed the dinner that we went back last evening to try something different. My wife had the lasagna. She said it was amazing. I tasted it and have to agree. We live 5 hours south of Welland and Matteo’s will be our first stop if we are ever any where close to there again. Definitely worth the short 20 minute drive from the tourist traps in Niagara Falls.”

“Having been a patron for several tears I have seen the evolution of a respectable dining establishment. It has survived many storms and turmoil and still exists. It is this tenacity that has made this one of the finest sites in Welland to enjoy a good meal. It isn't fancy but displays a good and friendly atmosphere to relax while dining. “Best breakfast in town. Exactly everything you could want from a breakfast diner, from 50's decor to the general atmosphere, everything has just such a great feel. The service is always top notch, very kind, and VERY speedy. I've never waited more then 5 minutes for my meal to arrive. The Big Bopper breakfast is the perfect amount, especially if you have a special someone to share your french toast or pancakes with. The coffee is always just the right temperature, and the sausages... Oh boy the sausages. You won't find a better breakfast sausage anywhere. A perfect snap when you bite into it, simply perfection. To hit it all home, the price is simply unbeatable. The fact that someone gave this restaurant a 1 star because they were upset they had to use the ATM they provide is an absolute injustice. Some people just want to whine where everyone can hear them, but don't let that stop you from enjoying one of the best breakfast experiences Welland has to offer.”
