Congee Queen - Markham(Hwy7/McCowan)

Typical Chinese food, decent quality and price. They only do takeout half an hour before they close so be warned! Also, their takeout portions seem to be smaller than if you were to dine in, so my solution is to sit at a table, order, and when it comes, I just pack it into my container (because I bring my own to reduce waste, also because their containers are too small for the full portion which is the whole "takeout is smaller portion than dine in" in the first place). I come here pretty often and sometimes the quality varies a bit, but it's generally pretty good food.

This place is very busy so I dont really go there to sit and eat but I do call in for take out. They are always very nice and pleasant on the phone to take my order. The food is consistently good and the price is reasonable. Keeps me coming back!

Great location, helpful staff, great accessablity to and from car to restaurant. Seating is perfect. We had a group so tables were big enough to accommodate us!!! Servers were supper on time with our food and each dish was correct. No one had the wrong food. Food was fresh and prepared to serve right away! Some had but and seafood allergies and there were alternative they could choose from! Everyone enjoyed themselves!

The food is excellent and very big portions. The only thing that I didn't like were the chopsticks. They were plastic and I found them very hard to handle. But if you are used to them they work great. Great place to go with a group, you can order all kinds of dishes and everybody can try them. The service is great. Make sure that you have a reservation especially on a Friday night. Very busy.

This has been our go-to restaurant when we don't want to think about what to eat and want a fast meal (rather than fast food). The atmosphere is comfortable and quite the same across all the Congee Queens. 

When we went it was past 8 on Saturday and we were lucky to have a table leaving so it took a few minutes before we were sit down as the restaurant was fully occupied. Tips: making reservations beforehand if you know you're going is definitely good. For us, we didn't expect to go so we didn't make any reservations. 

We normally get the congee, shrimp rice roll and dough fritter rolls along with fried rice or noodles for our family of four. It always fills us up and typically we will have something left over. As we don't normally come to this one, the quality of food seems consistent compared to our last time. Service because it was packed was considered acceptable, could be more friendlier and faster.
