Sam’s Congee Delight

This best way to describe Congee Delight is a classic Chinese home style breakfast joint. You won't get a full dim sum menu - they only serve the most basic food items made with the simplest ingredients. The open kitchen is still a rare but welcome sight in a Chinese food establishment.

The food is nothing to write home about but I've noticed the items has gone up over 20% since they moved to the new location. Seating is a lot more spacious but lunch time is still busy.

Good job Sam!! Great place for lunch or snack. The flavor was satisfying but wish the portion were bigger. I liked their open kitchen view, nothing to hide. One of the cleanest restaurants in the neighborhood.

Taste is close to before…fried dough was too thin. Soy sauce put on the plate for the fried dough ends up being soggy and soaked when it gets to the table. (I sat at the furthest table). Service was fast and efficient. The new look has changed completely, looks a bit more upscale than before. I miss the old place. It was my safe place for a nice bowl of congee. Only reason for the missing star is the serving of the fried dough. Other than that, still tastes pretty darn good.
