Sunnyside Grill Richmond Hill

My go to place for breakfast from the day it opened a few years ago. My fiance and I have been become regulars over the last year. The service is tremendous. The food is even better (except the new home fries...not a fan)! Breakfast is always fresh, hot, and quick. Lunch food is just as delicious. Sandra and Ruby treat you like family from the moment you walk in.

We decided to try a new breakfast/brunch place and this will definitely be on our regular list. The staff here is really nice and attentive, we took some time to look over the menu and they allowed us the time and did not rush us. Once we placed our order, the server made sure we are okay with the contents of each to dish to make sure the kids (or us) had no allergies. The plates came out quickly and did not look overly greasy or messy. The waffle with strawberry (compote/sauce) was delicious and the bacon was nice a crispy. The prices were comparable to everywhere else but the service here takes it and we'll definitely be back!

Came in here on a whim with my boyfriend and we were so glad we did. The food was outstanding... it was fresh, came out quickly and piping hot, and was so tasty. Probably the best eggs Benedict I have ever had. Not small portions either! My boyfriend and I usually go to Sunset Grill but never again, since the food is so much fresher and especially because the prices are almost identical if not better here!

Also, the customer service was so refreshing. None of the regular “how are you, what would you like to drink...” nonchalant conversations. Ruby was amazing; greeted us right as we walked in, service was quick and she gave great recommendations about the menu. She also made a point to ask our names and made us feel like family (not only from the home-cooked feeling of the food, but also because of the welcoming demeanour of the staff). I would highly recommend coming here for a great breakfast and lunch menu. You won’t be disappointed!

Service is very important to me and my family which is why I give 'Sunnyside Grill' a 4 star rating (I rarely, rarely, rarely ever give 5 stars).

I was impressed that the staff was able to get the small stuff right, which a lot of other breakfast restaurants just can't seem to figure out. Things like greeting our small kids with a big hello, asking if we require a high chair, bringing paper and crayons to keep our kids occupied, making sure the hot coffee isn't placed down in front of our 3-year old (it's shocking at the number of restaurants that haven't figured this out ...), bringing small plates for our kids to eat off of, placing the food in front of mom and dad because the servers knew we would be the ones divvying up the food for our kids. Pretty extensive list of things that they got right! There's more but I won't bore you with the details.

Oh, and did I mention that the food is delicious as well???

Just a couple of recommendations to improve the establishment (1) add more decor. I think adding pieces of nice artwork will make the atmosphere significantly better and (2) Ensure everything is stocked properly, especially on a Saturday morning. The paper towels in the bathroom were empty (no air dryer available) and I think it's important that customers are able to clean up properly before eating their meal.

Great food and great service. The customer service is outstanding. It’s a gem tucked within discounted shops. The chairs are super uncomfortable but they do offer people pillows which is nice. They have lots of regulars that come in but are not just seniors. Good mix of younger and older crowd. Clean and bright with a few more private booths set further back. Very comfortable place to have an all day breakfast or lunch. I recommend trying the deep fried version of the potatoes.
