One of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have been to, hands down the spicy pork soup is a must try, not too salty not too greasy. Also very reasonably priced!
Boyfriend vouches for this place as this is one of the places he has been going with his family for years. Great fresh food and nice staff. Small place and gets very busy at the lunch rush and even after the rush there's waves of customers. People seem to order the bánh cuon mostly but quite a few others were also ordering the soups and vermicelli dishes. Got the bún ca and the broth was tasty yet light. Boyfriend loved their bún bò huế since it was the proper spicy (not watered down spicy) and was his first time getting it. Also got the goi cuon and they were good. They use their own house sauce which has a pretty strong taste vs a traditional peanut sauce but use the hoisin sauce if you aren't a big fan of nuoc mam or sauce with strong ginger aroma. Overall would recommend. Will be back to try more!
Hesitating to write this because this is such a hidden gem. But I consider this my personal favourite, number one Pho spot in the city. Bar none.
A Vietnamese-Canadian friend of mine recommended that we go to this "gem" of a restaurant on Saint Clair West for dinner. We went to this restaurant several times because I liked their 3bean dessert while my friend liked their rice roll with pork and a glass-noodle soup. The dinner for two cost less than C$40. The service was prompt and courteous. We also went there on a Sunday for a late lunch and the place was crowded to our surprise. Even though I am a vegetarian they fixed me up with a meal with glass-noodles, bean sprouts and cucumber pieces. It was quite tasty and I understood why my friend called it a "gem" of a restaurant. The menu had more than 140 numbered items with Vietnamese names and English content. I plan to go there again next week and recommend it to anyone who wants to try Vietnamese cuisine.
First time having Vietnamese dishes other than pho and spring rolls. It was MIND BLOWING. Food was absolutely delicious and unexpected aroma of the herbs, complexity of the taste and texture. I will be back soon!
