AMAZING FOOD. FIVE STAR CUSTOMER SERVICE. The goat shoulder is so succulent. So tender and falls right off the bone. Even had camel meat here. That was definitely an experience. Highly recommend.
The food is delicious and the portion is large. The dish set comes with mango juice (delicious!). They also give free bananas which was a pleasant surprise too. Recently renovated so the place looks much better.
The service is not the best (kinda feel it is under-staffed), but overall a nice experience for me and my family!
Went here for lunch with colleagues after spending a few hours bowling. Everyone’s appetite was pretty high so we were really looking forward to this lunch and the food did not disappoint! Let me just say the portions were more than generous for the price, but that didn’t take away from the incredible taste of the food. Three of us had the roasted goat, another had goat shoulder and one person had chicken. The goat dishes were absolutely amazing; the meat was tender, well seasoned, and savoury. The rice that came with the dish was surprisingly tasty and well balanced with the meat. All the dishes came with refreshing mango juice, which was awesome. The chapati that came with some of the goat dishes was okay, but was a little bit heavier than expected. I wish the dish came with some sort of spicy or mild sauce for the rice dish. The chicken was a little salty, but except those two cons, I was thoroughly satisfied with this restaurant. The customer service could use some cheering up though, not exactly bad, but just a little cheering up.
Overall It's Okay...Not bad
Price: A bit pricey compare to the other restaurants around that neighborhood Easily a meal is $ 13-$17
Portion: Good portion, they give soup as well sometimes banana
First time having somali food, it is not too bad. I only had the chicken dish which was okay
Service: Not bad, serves more of a get your order and eat, no one really serves you..
Venue: Newly renovated, looks nice.
Great food! I came to Hamdi with my sister and 4 year old nephew. She ordered the meat platter for 2 with roasted goat and stewed beef. The beef was good and the goat...I must start with saying that I HATE goat. I cannot stand the smell or taste of it. With that being said, their goat was absolutely delicious! I was crazy surprised when I took a bite and all I tasted was juicy yummy flavors! Hamdi is the ONLY place I can eat goat and enjoy it! Their rice is very addicting to eat too! In addition, the platter came with 2 soups and 2 drinks. The soup was just as delicious! And the Mango juice there is a MUST HAVE. Highly recommend the roasted goat to anyone coming to this cozy little restaurant. As for service, it was wonderful as well and the gentleman clearing dishes was very accommodating and friendly towards my nephew. Such a great experience, I will definately be returning with my entire family !
