London Gate Pub

This pub is under new ownership/management and they are looking to be part of the neighbourhood. Big improvement over the last ownership and worth trying again if you, like me had abandoned the place.

Large selection of beers and in particular English beers. Food is excellent. The pot pies have a delicate pastry crust and the filling is robust with lots of meat and veggies.

They have recently renovated so it all looks brand new.

This is large place, good for corporate events and they have a large patio for the summer time. When it is busy it can get a little noisy so they do need to introduce some sound dampening somehow.

Love this place since Harry took over!

Highly recommend trying the steak and mushroom pie, really tasty and homemade (they only make a certain amount everyday and once they run out, you’re out of luck). I really appreciate that as I’d rather have fresh than frozen.

Also recommend trying the Yorkshire Pudding Wrap. Wow!

There was a corporate event going on while we were there. The service was decent but sometimes it was a little tough to get her attention (understaffed?). The appetizers were also decent but the prices were a little much. Thank goodness we were there for happy hour, otherwise we would have paid way too much! (Ie: $15 for potato skins, which was 1 potato cut into 4)

Had a group of 15 come for dinner. The service was extremely efficient. The food came fairly quick and was exceptionally well made. The food come in large portions and tasted pleasant. I was never a fan of pubs as I usually never liked their food but this establishment by far exceeded my expectations and will become my go to spot for future occasions. I can definitely see them becoming the new standard.

Wow!! So happy to see this place opened and renovated after closing down the Wild Goose!! Management sure did an amazing job. Visited with my family recently on the patio and was extremely impressed by the delicious food and friendly staff! Great selection of beers on tap as well. Will definitely be back!
