Mercado Negro

Great attitude amazing food gracious hosts. Nice twist on Portuguese favorites and a bonus for having the chef come out personally. Very tasty and great selection. I will be going back as well as recommending Mercado Negro.

Mercado Negro is one of my favourite restaurant in Toronto!
First of all, the entire staff from the owner to the cooks are super friendly.
Also, restaurant is well decorated and very authentic.
But most importantly the food is truly delicious! Their menu changes every season and they are coming up with original, out of the box ideas on how to present and cook food.

Every single food item I tried was amazing! I highly recommend this place, this is a gem !

Extremely impressed. I’m not one to shy away from a traditional Portuguese dish but the way that food is served here doesn’t even compare. The dishes are delicious and the staff are friendly and helpful. The restaurant itself is cute and cozy. I highly recommend Mercado Negro.

Overall it’s a cute and good place to eat. Food may not be super good, but I’m satisfied. Seafood board and grilled sausage are very good, fresh and tasty. Love the dessert, refreshing! But don’t try the seared blood sausage if you don’t know what is blood sausage ???? although I love the pineapple in this dish

AMAZING food. A bit pricey for the portions given... IMO the seafood platter was very basic though. Steak was well done, and appetizers were spot on. Service was OK but had to ask for water refills constantly. Definitely a place to try in the area if you're looking for food with good flavour.
