Love it
Every Chinese should be able to find something at this corner
Great food. Lovely service.
It's a takeout place. Anyone complaining about lack of seating is being silly.
Anyhow, while they do have a lot of the standard "Chinese Canadian" dishes, the Tianjin menu is where they really excel.
Order the Mutton Sweetbread Soup every time you go there, when it's available. It tastes like no Chinese soup I've EVER had... deep, rich flavours with liver, heart, kidney, all the great organs. To some this might not sound great, but believe me it is. Even people I know who balk at the idea of organ meat have tasted this and agreed it's good.
The Lionhead Rice is amazing, huge meatballs over rice in a rich and tasty sauce. So hearty and really really good.
Buns are made in house, not some frozen stuff you'd get at your average cheapo Dim Sum place. Not sure they're very available after 8 pm but you can always try. That's their main selling point, the buns and dumplings, but I highly recommend that anyone simply look at the start of the menu where it says "Tianjin" and order from that. You really won't be disappointed. And hey, their Canadian Chinese food isn't bad either, I'll never argue with Dop Voy.
