First time in - excellent service. Perfect example of what many casual restaurants should aspire to be. Drove 30 mins as it came highly recommended. Excellent all around experience. Will be back FOR SURE :)
Stopped by while in North York for the first time in a few years. Grabbed a nice fatty cut pastrami on rye and a Lb of the pastrami to go. I've never eaten anything else on the menu but as I live downtown I probably never will. Worth a trip for a deli sandwich unmatched anywhere south of the 401 in Toronto. My 2 year old even loved it and he is picky as hell right now.
We have been going to Pancer’s for many years. The meats (pastrami, corn beef, Montreal smoked meat, etc) are always great. The piled high sandwiches, especially on an onion bun, are like the good ole days. I rarely order a sandwich, except when I go to Pancer’s. It’s always a wonderful experience. Their accompaniments (coleslaw, dill pickles, French fries) are delicious. Soups are great to take home when you don’t feel like making your own. There are very few delis left where you can get an excellent deli sandwich. We have never experienced any difficulty with the staff. They sold the business for a short while and everything went downhill. We were so excited when they bought the place back. The walls are covered with photos of all kinds of famous people who have eaten there. It maintains the old deli style. Just continue putting out your food that reminds us of times long ago. Thank you so much!
Amazing corned beef sandwiches. Coleslaw is delicious too. This place has been around a long time. My father in law has been going for over 50 years
Unfortunately not like the old days. Pastrami sandwich was decent size but very mild. Hardly noticed any spice to the point that I wasn't sure it was Pastrami. Server confirmed it was and said it's different from time to time. Fries tasted like frozen. Coleslaw has garlic in it. What the heck. Who uses that in coleslaw!!
Memories is what brought me in and may bring me back but not likely soon. Too bad the old school deli's have fallen off the map one by one. Only a couple familiar names left. Those that are left are all shadows of what they were.
