The Uptown Pub House

Came here on a cold, windy afternoon recently; almost missed seeing the entrance as I walked by on Yonge Street. Wanted soup and they had a soup of the day. That's what caught my eye. The server, Alisha, was friendly and attentive. I ordered the soup of the day - cream of broccoli - and can honestly say it's the best I've had in a very long time. No corn starch or other thickeners used here; it was creamy with real cream and a wonderful flavour of broccoli and herbs. It was also pleasantly hot enough to blow on, but thin enough to cool slightly as I ate. I also had the apple/brie/kale salad. The salad came topped with a house dressing that had a slight sweetness to it, just enough to offset the kale's bitterness. Overall, a pleasure. The interior has lots of wood and interesting items on the walls. I'll be back, maybe for the French onion soup next time.

We were there for a business event. Someone else paid for the meal, but the food was good. Portions were large. The washroom is downstairs in the basement.

Nice little spot. Good food. Bathroom is in an awkward spot but other than that it is fairly decent place to go to grab a bite or beer

We hosted our wedding reception last Wednesday (March 13th) evening at Uptown. Upon meeting with Robert, the manager, to discuss the opportunity to host our reception at Uptown, we immediately trusted him and his staff to carry out our vision for the night. We wanted a space for our guests to feel at home, to indulge in delicious food and drink, and to celebrate love with us - Uptown delivered this vision beyond what we had hoped for. The evening not only exceeded our expectations, but it was a night we will never forget. Robert, and Sebastien, the kitchen manager, and all of the other staff put forth so much effort and care to ensure our glasses were full, the food was tasty, and the evening ran smoothly. For everyone who was involved, you did an AMAZING job and we love you all for making the vision of our reception become a reality. Our guests thoroughly LOVED the space and are still talking about how kind all of the staff were. Uptown, you're an incredible community with an engaging space, great people and amazing food.

To Naomi - the reviewer who missed out on the Uptown experience during our private wedding event - our bad. We encourage you to be brave and try again - it's worth the drive!
