“My favourite place to go to out of all the restaurants in the plaza. I'd recommend their beef with mixed vegetables and rice. It's around 8 dollars and they give very generous portions. Service was also great. The server forgot to hand my friend and I a menu once and offered us free pop as an apology. Highly recommend ordering takeout from this place too!”

“When I went here last I really enjoyed the food. I got the goat cheese platter for an appetizer and I loved topping each piece with what was provided on the plate (whole roasted garlic, fig spread, red pepper, etc.). I got the NY Striploin dish with garlic mashed potatoes. The potatoes were awesome. The steak was a bit under seasoned for my liking but otherwise good! I was pretty happy with my experience!”

“It's a good, rustic-themed, meat-centric restaurant. In my experience the staff of is good going on great and the food is pretty really good for this culinary band it occupies. The drawback, for me, is that it can get really loud and there are screens showing ads and low-wattage "trivia". I go out to get away from the omnipresent screens and the conversational dead space they engender. Saving those two issues I do like the place and do recommend if it's your sort of place”

“This Williams was not up to the standards of other Williams I have been to. The bathroom was rundown and dirty and I think the entire place could use a good cleaning. It was mostly empty when I went in and there were dirty plates all over empty tables and they stayed that way through most of my time there. I was on my own and apparently that meant I had to sit at a small dirty table (there were no available small tables that weren't dirty) because all of the booths were "reserved for 2 or more people." I would completely understand this during busy times but the cafe was empty and I'm quite sure that my meal and latte cost more than the two small coffees the people sitting in a booth were drinking. I don't know if a lot of these things are because this location is near a university but I wont be back.”

“Normally it is okay, but my most recent experience was just bad enough to make me want to avoid eating here again. I asked that they make my burrito "a little spicy" and they dumped a ton of hot sauce onto it. It must have been the hottest sauce they have because I took two bites and could not continue, and I normally enjoy spicy food like green curry, and even spicy burritos. I couldn't finish it. So be careful when you visit and ask for a little spice.”

“Very good pizzas and respectful and friendly staff. I made a mistake on an order myself last time and scared to go back again. The manager called me and explained how different type of pizzas and stuff. Even offer me a free pizza! I didn’t even know he was the manager from the store until after I was making another phone call. Anyways, they really really value and care their customers! “Spice roots has the best Indian in Guelph. I have been there at least 20 times because the quality of the food is amazing. It is the perfect comfort food. I order a variation of an item on the menu every time and I've never had a problem. They are always happy to accommodate. Everyone I've ever brought here has also adored their food. This is my go-to spot. I have spent the last few months trying other highly rated Indian restaurants in Guelph, just to see if anything could top Spice Roots and and nothing has even remotely compared to the quality and the taste of the food at this restaurant. I am certain, I will never go anywhere else again!”

“I have just recently re-discovered this place! Now it is one of the first suggestions I make whenever someone asks "where should we go for dinner?" The special are always amazing! And kudos to the staff for knowing so much detail about each one! I'm sure they change often. On our most recent trip we had a member of our party with a peanut allergy. The effort they made to make sure they did what they could for us was very appreciated! Of course there were the expected limitations with the deep fryer etc. But we had a great time and really appreciated the efforts of the kitchen and serving staff! Thx!”

“Always amazing!! The new owners Dewey and Hilary are just killing it, very happy to see them succeed in taking over. Most notably for me is their focus on establishing themselves as a place for live music. Guelph needs a good show spot. For any aspiring or experienced musicians, an open mic night runs every Tuesday. Alternating weekly between an acoustic night and a full band night which is just simply epic. Have played along the hosting musicians for a few years and i enjoy every moment. Amazing food, great beers and friendly staff. Worth a visit for sure :)”
