Went to the restaurant with some friends today. It's just unbelievable such an authentic Chinese restaurant exists in Montreal! It serves many Guangxi signature dishes (Guangxi is a southern province in China, next to Guangdong; personally I think the Guangxi cuisine is a fusion of Cantonese+Viet/Thai+local aboriginal cuisines) like Guilin rice noodles桂林米粉(卤菜粉), "old pal" rice noodles老友粉, lemon duck柠檬鸭, but also serves many famous dishes from other Chinese regions (Sichuan spicy dishes, hand-made noodles手工面). Even a basic stir-fried noodle or rice or dumpling dish tastes like what my grandma would have done. AMAZING! The lady who owns the restaurant is a native of Guangxi and is a real foodie as well as a very talented cook.
Btw, some dishes took really a loooong time to prepare, others were served fairly quickly. So if you are hungry or in a hurry, better ask them what dish can be served quickly.
Authentic and unique flavour, Friendly owner
Very delicious. Traditional Chinese snacks from Guanxi province of China.Homemde sauces and very fresh vegetables. Reasonable price.Deserve the thumb up.
Often go there with chinese friends. This is one of the best traditional restaurant in montreal. If you know a bit about the traditional dishes you will enjoy it a lot
The food is good. I have been here for a few times. If there aren’t lots of customers, your experience would be pleasant. But I have to say the service could be better. We waited for one hour before our meals were served. The waitress was helping in the kitchen so the customers were left alone in the dining area. Even water was not quickly supplied.
