Very interesting place with a lot of history. Our guide, Alisa, I'm sorry I can't remember the Wendake name, was fantastic as a guide and as a person. The restaurant has a very authentic theme and completes the site perfectly.
Fantastic. Extremely informative guides, friendly staff and the experience provides an incredible glimpse into the life and history of the indigenous people of Quebec.
If you're going to Quebec (or really anywhere near Quebec) this should be a priority stop! The Huron-Wendat are a beautiful people with a rich history to share. They provide guided tours, traditional food and activities that are fun for kids and adults alike. The gift shop is stocked with absolutely amazing handcrafted delights. We spent several hours here and could easily do another day.
The guided tour was incredible! We had a really nice guide, who could explain a lot to us. She was really open and answered all questions. Also the traditional dancing show was worth seeing! Finally, the shop had lots of good souvenirs! Unfortunately most tourists miss the site!
Visiting Quebec from Ontario with a family with 2 little kids, I think that this visit made the trip worthwhile. This is including the water park visit that the kids LOVED. This site was very educational, the English tour was well worth it. The traditional dances were also very interesting and displayed a lot of the cultural beliefs and significance of their rituals. Also, the model long houses and other places such as the medicine man's house and the sweat lodge were amazing. The way that the food was preserved was also very interesting. It was sad to hear that the closed mind of the settlers and the missionaries allowed so much rich culture to be lost. Perhaps it is time that the true north rises once again and regains the glory that it once had.
