“The decor is idyllic. The large terrace overlooks the Richelieu River. We were there for lunch on a Monday afternoon. You can order table d'hôte or à la carte. I took, as a table d'hôte: salmon tartare as a starter, filet de bar as a main course and a sorbet-trio as a dessert. All for $ 30, with a glass of rosé from Portugal for $ 9. The salmon tartare was perfect. Generous and well spiced. The fillet of bar was cooked to perfection and presented with seasonal vegetables well cooked too. The trio sorbet included raspberry, vanilla and mango ice cream. Light and very tasty dessert. Cedric provided the service. A very kind and globe-trotting youngster who can have conversation, without invading. He knows how to make a meal pleasant. We were five and all the other guests also enjoyed their food and service.”

“Food is indeed, very good, the place is nice and I have been there a few times. This morning I had a reservation and called to add one more person, it is true, it was a short notice, but it was very disappointing when they said they could not take a person more, I insisted that we could be squeezed all in and we would not mind to share a small table since we have had a very last minute change of plans and we were on our way there already. I had to cancel. I could be wrong but I feel they could have accommodated us, I felt frustrated and a bit disappointed, I feel they did not care.”

“Great place to have dinner, I took the tuna salad as starter(amazing) and the fish & chips which was crispy and fresh with excellent flavor. To be honest is not the fastest service but its friendly. Also we were sitting at the terrasse which was really nice and at some point its start raining a bit so they offered us to sit inside. Inside its cozy, overall great place!”

“Hands down the best breakfast meal I've ever had. The menu looked so great that I had trouble deciding and eventually just went for the sweet daily special. A huge amount of really delicious food at a very reasonable cost. All the staff members I interacted with spoke English, so they were able to help with ordering and the service. I'll definitely be coming back here anytime I come to Montreal. Highly recommended!”

“True story- after a healthy hike at Mont St. Hilaire, we were without a way back to Montréal. We managed to get a cab to meet us at the nearest restaurant, Restaurant du Pont Noir. Everyone at the restaurant was so kind and welcoming. We had cheeseburgers and fries, freshly made with love and super delicious. I was thrilled we found Restaurant du Pont Noir!”
