Wintzell's Oyster House

The food was decent we had the pasta. We have a table by the window so we could look out over the Setting Sun. The wait staff was okay I've had more tentative. The place is pretty cool inside Lots going on with decorations.

The best experience I've had at a restaurant in a while. Our waitress Kayla was phenomenal, she never stopped smiling and her hospitality was out of this world. Kudos to her and the cook as well as the manager.

The food was pretty excellent. I recommend the shrimp and grits and the brownie dessert. The service left a lot to be desired, though. Our server stood and talked to other customers for long stretches of time and left us needing refills a few times. The place wasn't really that busy for a Saturday afternoon, so it was not an issue of being over-busy. I will definitely be back, as the food was great, I just hope the servers can be more attentive to ALL of their customers, rather than just a few.

I wrote a less than enthusiastic review of the Wintzell's in Mobile. Since then, I have been to the Wintzell's in Fairhope twice. This review is much more positive. The experience, and the food, was nothing but good. Attentive staff, comfortable atmosphere, and great food. This location is recommended, especially if you are staying at the Grand and want a good meal close by without getting gouged by the restaurants at said resort. Recommended.

This has to be the best place to get oysters!!! They were so delicious!!! They also had a great selection for those who don't like oysters or if you want to add your meal. Very clean and very prompt staff.
