“A friend of mine recommended this restaurant and I'm glad he did. The catfish was definitely my favorite thing I tried until I tried the banana pudding. It is a simple cafeteria style serving system and crystal was a great host and explained everything and made our experience amazing. We will definitely be coming back next year.”

“This location has gone down hill over the years, when referring to it's facilities. Around half of the parking stalls have been "out of order" for over a year, with no expectations of being fixed. I'm sure you are wondering why I still give them a 4-star review. Well, the staff makes up for what this location lacks in appearance. The workers are always so kind, and management is eager to assist should you encounter any issues. I recommend downloading the app - drinks are always half price on mobile orders.”

“Captain D's is not exactly a five-star restaurant but I have to say in this sleepy little town in Alabama it was five stars... The cooks and staff were just all sweethearts and went out of their way to make sure that my food was prepared the way I like it and fast.. FYI if you go in the west parking lot entrance and swing wide there is a lot of room to turn a 53102 in a conventional tractor around without hitting anything”

“Wonderful Reuben sandwich and I got a side order of jalapeno poppers because I was extra hungry. Only could eat half the sandwich and had that for my lunch today he did up in the oven. Was still so delicious. Highly recommend the Reuben. Not as pretty today but tasted fabulous heated in broiler”

“I passed by here while doing some work in Dothan and thought with the amount of cars in the parking lot that they must be something good. Not knowing what might be good I ordered a sampler. It had chopped pork, chicken breast and ribs. The pork was different than I expected. It seemed like it had some sort of sauce mixed in. It was not at all bad by any means although different than the pulled pork I am used to. The chicken seemed to be kind of plain. The ribs stood out the most for my tastes and were about as right as they could be. They were meaty enough, had a good amount of smoke on them and fell off the bone. I got slaw and baked beans as sides. Both were well up to expectations. The slaw was fresh and the beans were smoky. Service was fast and friendly. I would say they are worth stopping in and checking out.”

“Excellent in every sense of the word. When the owner cares enough to spend time in his restaurant and casually check on customers, that's always a good sign. The food is gloriously delicious, and served in healthy portions at very fair prices. The staff is kind and obviously hardworking. The decor is modern but comfortable, with options for private dining, or a more social atmosphere, with pool tables, music, and an open patio. We're from Birmingham, but will take every opportunity to eat here when in town. P.S. Consider offering the neckbones as an appetizer, because they're the best I've ever tasted.”

“Visited while staying overnight for business. Ordered a meat lovers calzone and cheese bread for carry out. Was ready in 30 min. Staff was very friendly. Both were really good and great value for how much food I got. It was easily enough food for 2 with a big appetite. Definitely would go back if in town again. Only negative thing about it was the menu shown on Google maps is outdated. The prices are a little higher now, as seen on the uploaded pics.”
