Where to start.. El Amigo food is always good but this new location closer to where I live is awesome! Always love the nachos and the enchiladas. Service is always great and the atmosphere is so nice. On some nights, they bring in a mariachi band and it is just so much fun. Definitely recommend!!
I was told the restaurant had recently opened and me and my guests were pleased with our decision to dine here.
I had two concerns: there was food on my seat that I wiped up and needed to know where to put the napkin I used. I informed the waitress and she took the napkin and threw it onto the window seal.
The second concern was that although my meal was delicious, the shredded lettuce had numerous brown spots on them, therefore I couldn't get the full experience of my meal.
The server who came and took our order was very pleasant, professional and friendly.
I still highly recommend this restaurant because of the authenticity of each meal.
Enjoy 🤗
This is a small restaurant that used to be a BBQ joint that failed, followed by an attempt at a gourmet restaurant with high prices that also failed. The atmosphere and food is quite different than what was in the building before them. They have made this place into a nice little Mexican restaurant with pretty good food. I would consider it a down home local venue with minimal decorations or ambiance which is what I found appealing. Their focus is on their food and the service is not bad. I finished my plate and was pleased with what I ate. I didn't leave hungry. The complementary salsa is really hot but I could not stop eating it. The chips were still warm and light leading me to believe they were fresh made. Prices are reasonable and the wait staff was pleasant. The night we went the dining room was at capacity but we were able to get a seat with out waiting. I suppose a big city food critic would give them three stars but I give them five because this is the small town non-corporate atmosphere and authentic cooking I really like.
So... Mexican food in the US can be a mix- but these folks combine a warm welcome with quality thought-out dishes. Amazing food, and great drinks-responsive to asked customizations. Not your typical out of the can food, delicious shrimp and quality service. My local daughter called this a "hidden gem". Seriously pay them a visit.
It was really good. Great flavor and not bland. We will definitely be back to try other dishes.
