We rolled into Bham at 7, checked into room and hoofed it out the door to get here before 8 pm closing. Pleasant experience. Good margaritas, chunky guacamole and soft shell tacos. Service great. Can’t complain about a thing. Glad we could cross this off the list. Highly recommended.

Love this place! Long time patrons. I always get the pesole but you can’t go wrong with tacos. Drinks are EPIC!

This was the best mexican food I have tasted in a long time. I had the Al Pastor tacos and it was so delicious. The dipping salsa was like heaven in my mouth. I highly recommend this place to anybody.

El Barrio will always be such a great, charming spot to visit in Birmingham! The wait staff is amazing, as always, the food is consistently great, and the margaritas are definitely my favorite I've ever had. I've only ever been during Covid times, but their adaptations to keep customers as safe as possible do not go unnoticed.

I have never had a meal I didn’t like at El Barrio. I love the carnitas, the shrimp quesadilla, and the spicy chicken the best. The daily specials are usually $17-20, but are some of their best plates for sure. It’s easy to end up spending ~$20 if you get salsa, a plate, and a drink.
