    Popular restaurant in an old building in downtown. Parking lot is kind of a mess, but things got better inside. Seafood gumbo was a bit odd, almost more like a stew. Maybe that's how they make it in Birmingham. It did have a nice flavor. A Greek style tilapia dish was excellent. A side of collard greens was so-so. Wait staff seemed tired and didn't respond positively when asked a question about the menu. I would go back, but it certainly wasn't my best seafood experience.

    Long standing, great Greek restaurant! Fun environment and great for large groups. I have been to Greece, and I still prefer this over any of the restaurants over there. I was only there a week, so I didn't eat at that many places.

    This is my FAVORITE seafood restaurant! Been going here since the late 80s and never had a bad meal. I live on the Alabama Gulf coast half of the year, and still prefer The Fish Market Southside over our seafood places here on the coast. The FRESH seafood, Greek seasonings, the delicious Greek slaw or salad, countless sides and relaxed atmosphere easily puts this place at number one for me.

    Great!! Your treated like family!! I had the shrimp pot boy and it was delicious. So much shrimp in every bite. George the owner he is a great man treats every individual like family. I highly recommend it.
