Ash Neighborhood Bar & Grill

Visited Ash while in Birmingham with family. Excellent service and dinner. I had the meatless main of grilled sweet potato, spinach, avocado and plantain and it was delicious. Appetizers of Fried tomatoes with comeback sauce and the okra with cornbread croutons were fresh and hot. Others had a chicken sandwich and a build your own burger and said they were very good. Will definitely go back!

Nice farm to table local source restaurant. Each dish had its own flavor and blend. The portions were nice. Vegetarian options were not available when I went. Only down side on my selection is that there was a bit too much salt. It was all cooked very well, and looks to have a different menu every day.

Really relaxed vibe. You can get a cheap low key meal, or try something really unique. I find the menu eclectic. Lots of interesting options if you're willing. Also, I think it worth saying that everything they do is just above average which is hard to pull off. We're always satisfied with Ash.

Ash was quite a good experience. They have a good beer list with local drafts and plenty of cans. Their house cocktails all look good (although I didn't try one).

The appetizers when I visited were grilled okra and fried green tomatoes, both delicious. My entree of the hanger steak was cooked perfectly and served with a great side.

Dessert similarly did not disappoint with a bread pudding that wasn't too mushy or too sweet.
