The Blue Plate Cafe on South Memorial Parkway in Huntsville is a good place to get breakfast at a great price. Not to mention, this cafe is located close to our home. My wife and I ordered the blue plate which comes with two eggs cooked to order, hashbrows, two pancakes, and a meat option. She had fried bologna and I had chicken fried steak. Our daughter enjoyed the pair of burritos. I think we found another great option for our traditional Sunday breakfast.

Went to the Blue Plate for a class reunion breakfast. Service was fast and friendly. Food was served hot, fresh, and fast. Ordered the 2 berry pancake breakfast with 3 sausage patties. Pancakes were big and fluffy and the sausage was spiced very nicely. Breakfast came out to $12.51 with coffee. Great Southern fare for a reasonable price.

The food was delicious, and the back of the house seemed to be on point. However, the front of the house was lacking. Our hostess that seated us and checked us out at the register was very pleasant. Our waitress was very sweet, but very inattentive. We got what we ordered and quickly. But, after that, she and three other workers sat at a booth, talking, daydreaming, and giving a shoulder rub. I had to wave my hand in the air to get her attention, or to get one of the other people at the worker booth's attention that nudged her, to make her look over at me, get up and come see what we needed. I did this three separate times, because we needed drink refills, and she never brought us our dessert of the day that went with our meals we ordered for the day, until I motioned her over to ask her for it, along with take home containers. They were not busy, so that was not an excuse for her lack of attentiveness. Also, this was the South Parkway location. If front of the house can be up and on their toes taking care of their diners without sitting at a booth not paying attention, and having to be called over to the tables for service, drink refills, etc., once the food is delivered to the table, I will give it another try. We loved the food and the restaurant atmosphere, and how quickly our food was delivered, too.
