Me and my parents were visiting from out of town and this place is a hidden gem! It’s in a “blink and you might miss it” spot. The food is AMAZING, the staff was great, the oldies music playing was so enjoyable, and it all made our experience wonderful. We had the blackened salmon bowl, the beef bucatini, and the burrata toast. I regret not taking pics of our food to share and remember, but it just means we’ll have to come back soon!

Wow is the best description! My love had the gyro, I had the duck sandwich. Our waitress Allie truly knows the menu, she helped me pair the dressing & wine with my duck. 5 star serving & purely gourmet meal. Highly recommended.

Sometimes the wine tasting parties get loud when you’re here eating, but it’s more than worth it. The servers are always so nice to talk to and respectful. Definitely one of the best places for food downtown, my wife and I share dinner here all the time and the quality and price can’t be beat. Getting a spot can be hard because the place is small, but it’s worth the wait. Happy hour wine caught me off guard, two glasses was more than enough for me at 3pm on a Thursday

I already really liked this place, but today had the Mahi sandwich and it was phenomenal. Simple, balanced, delicious. The heirloom tomatoes and remoulade were excellent. Seasonal menu. Outstanding wine selection. Staff is excellent! Super high quality but not at all pretentious. A real gem.

I really can't believe there aren't many reviews for this place. Maybe people mistakenly review Domaine South instead of this spot? That's the only explanation I can think of, as this restaurant is popular. Petit Bijou is owned and operated by the same folks who own Domaine South. Indeed, the building/room that houses Petit Bijou once HOUSED Domaine South. But the actual Domaine South outgrew this spot and moved to the old Keegan's location around the corner and just down the stairs nearer to the park. Now, Petit Bijou occupies this spot on the square. It's similar to Domaine South but with a slightly scaled-back menu, a stronger focus on sandwiches, and a wine bar vibe.

My actual rating is probably a 4.5, but I'm going to round up to a 5 because the vibes were fantastic and the service was phenomenal.

I went here with my parents for our weekly lunch together on Thursday. They have a lovely small patio but it was stiflingly hot, and we were thankful to find a spot indoors. We were late for lunch but there was a decent number of folks dining inside and out. Even though the door to the patio was left open throughout our visit, the AC was working powerfully enough that we weren't ever too hot sitting in the restaurant.

You order at the bar here, but the gentleman manning the bar rushed out and got us some fresh iced water as soon as we sat down. He was exceedingly personable, charming, and very skilled at gauging when his presence was needed. He answered my questions about their wines, didn't hover but was present when needed, asked if we needed boxes, and regularly came with water refills. Can't ask for much more, especially for counter-ish service.

My parents very much enjoyed the music and the decorations are very cute and wine shoppe-y with lots of accents that remind you this is a Huntsville original.

Having heard about their charcuterie boards and being fairly light eaters, my parents ordered that for lunch. Your choice of their cheeses (gouda for us), toasted almonds, crostini, and fresh grapes come standard on a board, but you can add more cheeses, meats, or even appetizers for an extra cost. They asked for the deviled eggs to accompany. The board was beautiful and came out quickly. I ordered the Albuquerque turkey: turkey, pepperjack, hatch chilies, conecuh bacon, and avocado (though I asked for this to be removed and it was). I couldn't resist adding a cup of their tomato basil soup as my side.

The charcuterie board in particular was outstanding. Every element was delicious -- sweet grapes, crunchy and toasty almonds with no hint of chalkiness you sometimes get with them, and delicious slightly tangy Gouda. The deviled eggs were also amazing. The bacon on top was cooked perfectly. My mom, who particularly loves this kind of food, said they were some of the best deviled eggs she's ever had. Both parents were happy campers.

My soup and sandwich combo was also excellent, though didn't quite reach the heights of the board. The bacon was cooked PERFECTLY, and the toasted sourdough was delightfully crispy on the edges and chewy in the center. I enjoyed the tang of the chilies, though for me I was expecting the heat factor to be up just a tiny bit. I didn't find it spicy at all, just chili flavors. My only other criticism is the sandwich did get a little soggy/flimsy, probably because there was so much turkey piled on there.

Personally, I thought the soup was just okay -- it was heavy on the basil for my preferences and I also like for my tomato soup to be very smooth. This still had fairly decent-sized chunks of tomato in it. My parents both sampled and liked it. Honestly think this was more of a personal preference thing.

Ultimately, we were all VERY happy with our charming and comfortable lunch experience here. My mom mentioned being interested in returning for her birthday, so that's high praise! I can definitely see why so many people speak so highly of this restaurant. I look forward to returning to PB and also finally giving DS a try in the future.
