Ol Heidelberg Cafe

Decided to try Ol Heidelberg after finding hour waits at nearby restaurants. My family and I were not disappointed. The schnitzel, sausages, bread, and cucumber salad were all great. Highly recommend if you like German food.

Possibly one of the best places in Huntsville to eat. Very rich sauces and the cakes are made fresh. If I could eat here every day, I would. Staff is very nice as well.

I forgot to get a picture of the main course. I did remember to get a picture of the rye and pumpernickel bread, both of which were delicious.

The Bratwurst Heidelberg was great. Plenty of kraut, onions, and sliced apple to go with the sausage. I also had the pan fried potatoes as a side. They were crispy on the edges and very well seasoned.

The service was great. I would absolutely go back if I am in the area again.

This is one of my favorite German places to go. The schnitzel (all types), red cabbage, German potato salad (hot and cold), and pan fried potatoes are all good. Always get the cucumber salad! And the desserts are so good you need on, even if it's just to take home. There's a whole display full of them! And if course the have I've cold German beer on tap, from small to extra large.

Plus the ambiance is nice. It's got that German feel. Overall it's a great place to go as a couple or with a group. Just be prepared to be so stuffed it's hard to get much done after.
