On both Saturday, April 27, 2024, and Sunday, April 28, 2024, I went to have a late breakfast at a relatively new local establishment called Big Bad Breakfast Restaurant in Madison, Alabama.
My assessment: The food, service, and atmosphere were all GREAT!
On both days I chose the Cajun Omlette, hash brown potatoes, and a decaf coffee. Also, on both days, I shared a rather large fruit and cream-topped waffle (and syrup) with my guest.
The fact that I went two days in a row should reveal that I enjoyed my visit, which I very much did!
In addition to delicious food---again---the atmosphere was very nice. The decor, lighting, and the fact that there are windows all around the seating area made the restaurant so bright and inviting on a Spring morning and early afternoon.
I'm definitely already frequently encouraging my friends and family to give Big Bad Breakfast in Madison, Alabama, a try.
Two thumbs up! 👍 👍

First time I went to a BBB it was in Florence and I had my all time favorite avocado toast…I’ve wanted to try it again to see if it was a fluke or not so when the new location opened in Madison I was excited to go…Neeley and I headed that way for brunch, was crowded but we lucked out and a couple got up from the bar as soon as we walked in…Logan took care of us, super attentive, made great suggestions and it seemed like he was genuinely vested to making sure we had a great experience…Matt, the manager came by and checked on us and he too was vested in making sure we had a great experience…from the drinks (loved the coffee) to the food to the service, it was all fantastic! It was a little warm in there for me so I’m concerned it might be too hot as the summer rolls in…but in case you were wondering, the avocado toast was just as good as the first time…and the pancakes, biscuit w tomato gravy (Italy collides with Northern Alabama), Hash Cakes, Gangster Wrap, were all delicious! Congrats on a wonderful place!
First time patron at a BBB. I was immediately drawn to the gluten “sensitive” menu and its french toast. That’s a rare find for my gluten free journey. The portion was small but it was good and the fruit/berries were fresh. They love a little spice at BBB and you can find it in the bacon and the grits. I’m particular about my grits so I was not a fan of theirs but if you like a little kick maybe they’ll be pleasing to your palate. There are lots of unique menu items but we stayed simple this visit. My companion had a traditional breakfast and gave it a thumbs up. Oh and I can’t forget the good service we had. I’d go back for an encore. Maybe not for the French toast but something else on the menu. (👎🏽price vs serving size)
Wow! Not sure what else could be said!
Service is great! Atmosphere is light and airy. Definitely a must try!!! The fresh squeezed grapefruit juice is great!!!
The staff are super friendly. The GM, Matt even came by and told us about how everything, even down to the jams are made from scratch in house. Definitely recommend that you try out BBB Madison, AL
I have been anticipating this restaurant being good for a while. Every time I passed it on 72 I got more excited for them to open! And I am happy to report, they did not disappoint!
The food was delicious!! We had a grits bowl and deep fried French toast, both were incredible in their own way. I also highly suggest their fresh squeezed orange juice and their jam!
We will be back!
