I wanna extend flowers where they are due.
I came to SZND Kitchen & Cocktails this Sunday for “Soul Food” I enjoyed the oxtails with greens and Mac and cheese. Best greens I’ve probably had since a child.
I love the fact the greens didn’t have pork in them, I had a margarita from “Keno” he was just filling in for another bartender because the manager called out. He was doing his best to keep up with the amount of people coming in and out. He told me Sundays typically aren’t this busy.
I noticed they only had one server majority of the night. I can respect that I watched Keno and what looked like his brother and the server doing it all.
One second Jared was bartending, serving, running food and drinks they also said he cooks.
The bartender was, cleaning, bartending and checking on our orders continuously. The server had at least 9-10 tables by her self and didn’t flinch.
My overall experience as a consumer was great. In the aspect of I could see the effort and work that was being done. Although things took a delay the ladies at the bar and myself continually talked about how much everyone were working and helping each other. I will be back, hopefully soon they will have more help with the staff.
The location is prime and the direction this place is going has so much potential.
Really nice spot! A reservation is recommended on the weekends Sunday was a tad busy. There was DJ and he was good, it was definitely a vibe. The hostess was polite and the server was nice. She was attentive and helpful. I had the chicken hash brown bowl and added a side of catfish. The catfish was amazing and the bowl was really good, maybe slightly dry. My sister had the catfish and grits and it was phenomenal. We both ordered a mimosa because we didn’t have time for bottomless. I hated they were served in a short plastic cup with straws, the presentation is so much better in a champagne flute… even a plastic one. A single glass is 8 dollars and with flavor it’s 10. We wish we had known they had flights because that was a better deal and a chance to try other flavors. I also didn’t love how low the tables were at the booths; it made eating very awkward. These was an issue with the bill but the sever and manager were very helpful and fixed it promptly. I would definitely be back to support!
