“As fans of The Standard Social Market, we had high hopes for a Mexican food concept of the same caliber. Del Chuco fell a bit short, unfortunately. The restaurant itself is upscale urban. Exposed brick and graffiti walls bring texture and personality. There is ample seating and a nice bar up front. These are all good things. During my visit, both service and food were average. Upon being seated, a server introduced herself and said she’d be taking care of us but that was the last time we saw her because then a second server took over. No problem there, just a little different. When the second server took our order, she specifically asked if we’d like the two appetizers to come out before the entree and we confirmed that we would appreciate that. As requested, the two appetizers were delivered first. Unfortunately, the entree was not far behind. I think it came out three or four minutes later, well before we’d even tried both appetizers. So that was a miss for sure. We ordered the queso fundido and papas tacos to start. Both dishes looked good, but lacked flavor (something some salty cotija might have improved significantly). For an entree, we tried the chicken verde enchiladas. This, it seems, is where the kitchen is heavy-handed with the salt shaker. These enchiladas were way over salted, to that point where your tongue starts to pucker and sting a little. None of this was helped by the temperature of the food served; both the potato tacos and enchiladas (including accompanying rice and beans) were served barely warm. It was a major bummer! Another minor problem was that the server, upon delivering our entree well before we were ready for it, made no attempt to actually rearrange dishes in the table in order to creat a space for the entree. Rather, she stood there expectantly, interrupting any enjoyment we may have had with the first couple of bites of our appetizers. Our experience wasn’t necessarily bad, but based on food and service, Del Chuco certainly won’t be a frequent choice for us. It’s a bummer because I wanted so badly to find another go-to spot for date nights!”

“Great spot. Great food. Tablitas and tacos are the specialty, and the tablita was great for 2-3 people. Seemed very authentic. We will eat here again.”

“Absolutely loved it! The food, desserts and smoothie was refreshing (I tried the taco salad, strawberry cupcake and the berry sea moss smoothie). Courtney was a joy, pleasant and professional. I Will be back! I ate all the other items before I took a picture but I took a picture of the taco salad”

“daily lunch buffet from 11 until 2 o’clock. Really good for people who not sure what type of Indian food they like. Be prepared, I ate there on December 29 and it cost $43.98 for two buffets. we drank water not sure if drinks are extra. I’ve seen the employees standing around while there are dirty tables as if they had nothing to do. It was quite a shame when people were waiting on them. While I was trying to pay for my meals, the phone rang. The cashier picked it up and had a four minute conversation with telemarketer while I stood there with my money in my hand, ready to go. In all fairness, I was there first. Put the caller on hold and deal with the person in front of you.”

“I am a huge fan of this location. There were a few quirks before with the reward system that annoyed me at first but that is no longer a problem. They have very cold beverages in the refrigerator, the items you need in a pinch to finish/start a meal and snacks to get you through. The staff has always been friendly to me and now they offers pizza too. Great place to get gas and more.”

“This place rocks. They’re really trying to make the best grocery store and restaurant possible. The owner is a very nice man and works hard. The selection has gotten bigger over time. Especially when they moved to their new and more convenient location at the front of the same shopping center. I’m excited for them to have lunch food. Don’t look for a menu. A friendly woman cooks the food every day like it’s home cooking. Today I had pork chops. Sometimes there is stew or tortilla dishes. Their salads and avocado dishes are delicious. I hope they keep adding more vegetarian options in the future. When you go: don’t forget, there is Horchata on the weekends!”

“First time at Taco Mama and must say I was very happy with the burrito portion sizes, certainly very generous. On this visit I had The Judge and the side of Mexican Mac and cheese. The cheese in the burrito wasn't entirely melted but was tasty overall. If I'm in the area, this is a great place to get work done and the outdoor seating is great this time of year!”

“Update 9/11: They got rid of happy hour which makes me sad, but the food is still really good. I've given it a few tries and it's delicious! They have great salsa. Full of flavor. ( A Mexican restaurant without good salsa is no bueno.) Their happy hour is long and a great deal and the margaritas are really good on top of that! The staff has always been friendly and attentive. The food is always delicious. I'm glad to have this little locally owned place close by where I live when there seems to be nothing but chains popping up in the area. Also, their Verde sauce is delicious! Can't wait to come again!”

“First time in to visit this place. I was mostly drawn due to the cool robot I saw in the reviews. Sadly, my sad enchiladas were hand delivered. They did bring the robot out when o inquired about it. This is the first time ever I order enchiladas, three to be exact, a bowl of queso, and a tea and not have rice, beans, nothing. Then my total bill before tip was $37 for such a small portion.”

“Super cool place!! A little hidden but found it just fine, my boss told me about it and I’m so happy I got to try it today! I had a watermelon holly rancher as she suggested and I’m shocked at how low calorie it is. 180mg caffeine too!! Little pricey but worth it as a preworkout or midday pick me up! Dangerous how close it is to my work!”
