Capitol Oyster Bar

Fat, delicious Louisiana oysters and a shrimp po boy for dinner. An IPA or two and some blues/zydeco playing in the background. A nice breeze from the river side. This is about as close to perfect as you can get in Montgomery.

We’ve wanted to try this place for a while now & just got the chance. The atmosphere is calm and the river view is beautiful. Our food was delicious. My daughter loved the crab legs. There’s nothing fancy about this spot, but it has a lot of character. Staff were all friendly and the service was quick. The rescue cats on the property aren’t my thing, but my daughter enjoyed them.

They have raw oysters, shucked when ordered. They have standard Southern fried seafood.
The ambiance is unique. It is a dive bar overlooking the Alabama River.
Come in, flop down, order some beer and seafood, and enjoy yourself.
Blues music on Sunday afternoons.

On the Alabama river. Been a local favorite for years and looks it. Don't judge the book by its cover. Oysters,Shrimp,crab legs gumbo. There is even a Rib Eye on the menu.Good beverage selection. If your looking for glitz and glam don't bother. If you are looking for just good southern style seafood try this place
