Chris' Hot Dogs

When I was a child in the 50's my Mother would let us get Chris' Hot Dogs occasionally. I'm in my early 70's now and live in the St. Louis area. I left Montgomery in 1960. I remember the taste even to this date and have wished many, many times over the years be able to experience that wonderful memory again. If Chris' shipped hot dogs I would certainly order them. Chris' Hot Dogs is a 100+ year old classic. great food. great people. same family since the beginning. my grandfather loved this place. he brought my mother here when she was a child and he brought me when i was a child.

These folks cater the party I went to the other day. Hotdog was tasty, as was the burger. The coleslaw was top-notch, some of the best coleslaw I’ve had in a long time. And the potato salad may have been the best potato salad in recent memory. I won’t speak to the reviews of the historic restaurant, as wasn’t there this trip.

No casing, disconcerting bright pink color...yum. My parents thought Chris's sauce was unique, sweeter than they were expecting, but enjoyable. It is small and you need to get there before noon for seating and parking. We did notice some unappealing bugs but I guess you're gonna get that in such an old building. I would advise maybe one trip for the history experience.
