My family visited The Anvil Pub & Grill for the first time on 3/15. I noticed when we walked in that the floor felt slippery and greasy when we walked on it. We were there on a Sunday for their Sunday brunch menu. Our server was rather loud and inattentive. While we were waiting to order he was just standing in kitchen talking to other members of the staff. There were a couple of times that my glass was empty when he was just standing around. Our food was really good! I ordered the shrimp and grits which was very tasty but but not worth $24, maybe $18. My nephew got some delicious looking French toast. My sister-in-law got a breakfast sandwich which also looked great. Her husband got the Anvil burger which he liked. I tried one of his fries which were great. My husband just got bacon and eggs which he said were good. We all loved the food, but we're not impressed with our server. We will definitely go back because we saw several other things we would like to try.

Ordered takeout and it was amazing! We ordered fish and chips, eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, a side of black pudding and the Anvil burger with added bacon and egg. The egg wasn’t on my burger but I didn't miss it. Everyone raved about their meals. Can’t wait to eat here again!

The Anvil has been open about 1 week so we tried it for lunch today. My daughter enjoyed the music and atmosphere. I agree it was relaxing. The staff did a great job and did not show opening week jitters. Now for the food. One order of Fish and Chips and an order of Chicken Tiki Masala. Both tasted great and received praise from my daughter. Especially the chips. Definitely worth a trip back to try dinner or brunch.

Great job with the ambiance. Very relaxed, but upscale relaxed. Food was excellent and definitely showed a chef's hand. We shared the duck pate'. People around us had the charcuterie board, and the Scottish eggs. Both of those looked excellent. They had one of my favorite wines, Bonanza, so that made me happy. If you are a beer drinker, you are going to be very happy here. Very professional management staff. The "tea room" was set up, and will be a lovely place for high tea and private gatherings once they are ready to crank it up. They will be doing their own bread and pastries in house as I understand it.

There's something for everyone here, and not in a "master-of-none" manner. Each item on the menu (that I've tried) is well crafted, and has clearly had a lot of thought put into it. On top of that, each item is remarkably authentic to what I've had overseas.

I highly recommend the Scottish Salmon. Yes, it's Mediterranean flavors in actuality, but it's an excellent healthy option.

Can't wait to be back and see what each item offers!
