Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I ordered the generous portions, well I got regular or small portions and a regular meat. I had plenty, but large (generous) portions they were not. Hey, my first complaint at Cracker Barrel to speak of!

Cracker Barrel is a favorite of ours. Always great down home cooking, no matter whether you hunting a great country breakfast, a hearty lunch or a down home cooked supper. The Cracker Barrel on Cahaba Valley Rd has never let us down. The food is always plentiful, delicious, well prepared, and hot. Service is always fast and friendly and you can’t beat the price. They’ve never let us down. Only issue is, food is so good that sometimes on a very busy day, lots of folks got there ahead of you and they may be out of something really popular. Doesn’t happen often, but does happen. No worry; their menu is full of great entrees so you’re bound to find something else just as good. Or maybe even better. Make this your “go to”.

The food was great! 3 stars because the waitress and manager kept removing chairs from the table without asking. On this busy Sunday morning we waited patiently for our food and my party went to play the complimentary checkers while I waited at the table. The staff saw empty chairs and would walk up and grab them without even looking at me. I had to scream across the restaurant to stop them because they were moving so fast. How do u take chairs BEFORE WE EVEN EAT??? Nobody took the time to recognize we hadn't been served or just be polite and ask to move the chairs.

This is an extremely well managed cracker barrel. The team that serve you are always kind and spot-on with delivering a great experience. I have found that the management team here lead well.

Normally I would always give cracker barrel a five star rating, but this one had horrible service. The food as usual was very good, always is but my brother and I went through our whole meal with nothing to drink. When the waiter took our drink order we also gave him our food order at the same time. We sat for about 7 to 10 minutes and he still hadn't brought our drinks, so I thought that the guy busing tables was our waiter and I as are you the one waiting on us over here, pointing at our table, no sir I'm sorry but I'm not your waiter so I go sit back down and explain to my brother that he is not our waiter. Several minutes more go buy and the drinks finally show up and right behind them our meal. So we started to eat and being hot our drinks didn't last long! About halfway through the meal the waiter shows up and ask if we would like a refill, yes was the answer from both of us. We kind of slowed down on eating with hopes of refills coming but they didn't come. After we had finished eating the waiting shows up one more time and ask if everything was ok and our answer was we never did get the refills we requested and he ask didn't they come over for refills and we said no so he left and finally came back and refilled our drinks. This was a first for me at any cracker barrel so we just let it go. I know that this isn't likely to happen again so we will give it another try. Thanks for listening.
