Golden Corral Buffet & Grill

Excellent steaks. I originally rated this place 3 stars, but did not leave any details about my experience. But recently I've discovered that their steaks are some of the best around. Not necessarily the greatest cuts of steak, some top/bottom round even, but some are clearly good ribeyes. I think that steak night on the buffet is every night after 4pm? Might want to call and ask yourself but... Awesome steak. It's not anything elaborate. Just salt and pepper, I think. (If the cook wants to put anything on your steak while he/she is cooking it, I recommend asking them not to...) But for the price and the fact that you can have as much as you desire... the steak is outstanding. You can't get better steak in Birmingham for less than $25.

Great place to take out. From time to time I pick up dinner. Handy sturdy compartmented dishes are available along with soup and dessert sized containers. Everything is weighed at checkout and no matter what you purchased you pay by weight.

Daughters choice for her birthday dinner. She has type 1 diabetes and the online menu made it very easy to calculate her carbohydrate intake. Asked the waitress about a particular item on my daughters plate, as there were several items on the menu that were like what she had with vast differences in carbohydrates, she wasnt entirely sure so we picked what best matched. Then within a minute she returned with the manager who helped clarify what exactly what my daughter had on her plate! I was very grateful for her and the manager taking an interest in helping us out. The steak was quite tasty and tender too!

The visit here was a little later in the evening; I'm assuming after they had the dinner rush. The food was good for buffets. They had steak, fried chicken, and a variety of other meats to try. If your picky about how you like your steaks made then I would not come with high expectations for it. Besides the steak, everything was good. Not excellent but acceptable. If you have a large group that you want to feed on somewhat of a budget then this is a good place. But, if you are craving a couple of particular things for you and your s.o. then I would stick to the sit down restaurants that you already know.

Wide variety of southern comfort food. Full salad bar. Stop by you won't be disappointed. Senior discount available. Great date night choice. Reasonable price.
