Hokkaido

The food here is consistently good. Of course the chefs are going to pull the same moves that you’ll see at any hibachi grill but the food is prepared well amongst the fun antics. I’ve only been here for hibachi about 10 times; never been for sushi. Never had a bad hibachi dinner here and if you need to save a few bucks they also offer a “share plate” option for you and a guest/date where they split the meat/shrimp between you but each gets their own rice, veggies, soup, etc.

We have been eating at Hokkaido's for about 15 years! Their food is the most consistently good Japanese Steak house style food we've ever eaten! Our meal today was "Excellent" and just as we expected it to be! We have become very close friends with the owners and it's always a treat and everyone that eats at Hokkaido's is always treated great! I wish every restaurant could serve good food as consistently as Hokkaido's does and always has!

Absolutely love this place! We go here anytime we visit Tuscaloosa. The steak is so juicy and the fried rice and vegetables are so flavorful! The sushi is also awesome!
Most people think that Japanese restaurants don’t serve American food, but this place is like a mix between Japanese and American. It’s perfect!

As far as hibachi grills go this place was probably average or slightly below. You had to choose between a soup or salad and most hibachi grills I've been to give you both at the beginning of the meal. Also they did not give a couple shrimp to taste which I've usually gotten. The actual presentation itself was fun and exactly what you would expect from a Hibachi Grill. The food was very tasty and they had the signature yum yum sauce that I expect and love from a Hibachi Grill. The price was actually good for the amount and quality of the food. One negative I noticed was that our waiter was very inattentive, I had to actually hand him empty bottles for him to take them.

Food was great as always. Service is always fun at the table. Recommended!
