Good food
I love the food but last visit I wated 30 min before some one came to the fron, their was a sign said be back in 5 min but 30 min really
Yo, this place is good as hell! Nice and friendly workers, as well as great food. I recommend the Gyros!
We've been here twice, once a week ago and they were closed for no reason (during normal business hours) with no sign or anything explaining why. It's like no one had come in that day, and no Manager bothered to check in to see if they had.
We stopped by again today, and decided to have lunch. Among the hot-dog and sausage offerings, they also have a good amount of burgers, chicken, and other things. My son had a plain kid's hot dog, my wife had the regular hamburger, and I had the "Gorgonzilla" burger. We shared a regular Chicago's Best tamale.
The staff was friendly, but it seems they are usually either not busy, or occupied elsewhere. A big button near the front basically says to ring them if you need them. You won't find that at any other food stop in the BX. There was one other set of customers that ate there the entire time, whereas the other shops seemed to have steady lines. Maybe it's because Chicago's Best is disconnected from the main food court. Maybe other people knew something (like a bad experience) that we didn't.
We received our food pretty fast, maybe just over 5-7 minutes of waiting. Everything was piping-hot and tasted fresh. For even a plain hamburger and hotdog, my family was pretty happy (and a bit surprised at how much they enjoyed it). My "Gorgonzilla" was really good, and I definitely recommend it. The tamale was okay, maybe we just haven't been to Chicago to see what the big deal is about them there. Coming from New Mexico though, it wasn't the same.
Maybe you only end up liking a few things on the menu, but it is worth a shot. There are a lot of options on and off base, but if you're in a pinch, try it!
