Sami's City Diner

The food was average. We had breakfast it would have been a better experience if the hash browns weren't cold. They didn't even have a crisp to them. If there is one thing on my plate that is a miss, it ruins my dining experience.

In the heart of Spenard you’ll be hard pressed to miss the neon beckoning from the City Diner. With plenty of tables and an abundance of stools at the bar, you don’t have to feel guilty about stopping in for just a coffee or a full breakfast throughout the day. Owned over the years by some of Anchorage’s best chefs, the menu is all diner but the quality is Culinary Institute. The atmosphere only enhances the experience. I ordered a yogurt parfait, because I know I can’t manage their portion sizes this morning, but go all in when you come...everything looks delicious. The staff members are warm and friendly. Many have been here for quite sometime. You’ll leave with a big smile, guaranteed.

Even though I got my breakfast to go the service was outstanding. Compliments to the cook.The grits and bacon were PERFECT! and the waitress was extremely nice. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and I'll definitely eat here in the future. HAPPY HOLIDAYS and thank you again.

Wow! I had the meatloaf dinner last night and went back for breakfast this morning and had the Crab cakes eggs Benedict..both were absolutely amazing! The food here is awesome, the portions are huge and the service is friendly and fantastic. This diner is a true gem in Anchorage. You owe it to your tastebuds to try a meal at City Diner!
