Delicious authentic German food that you can't find anywhere else in Anchorage! Great choice of beer too!

My first visit and it turned out to be a great visit. I have not had Schnitzel since I left Germany in 1988. The food was delicious the service was outstanding, I'll be going back weekly at least. The prices were also resonable I spent less than in other places and had a better dinner.

The food was authentic, like the kind you would find in a German housewife's kitchen. Some of the recipes were a little different than what I grew up with, but the techniques were perfect. For example the red cabbage was not quite as sweet as I'm used to, but I actually like it more. The sauerkraut had too much caraway for my taste, though. And that beer! ???? We all got "flights" so we could have 4 oz samples of 4 different beers on tap. I enjoyed all four, even the pilsner. The samples change often as he is always updating his selection. This place will definitely be added to our regular rotation.
