This place is hidden inside the building, but is well worth seeking out. Great pad thai.
Best Tia food in the Valley, very fresh, located inside the Clock Tower building near Carrs,
So you get a double whammy here. I own my own restaurant and having been to the amazing Buddhist temples in Anchorage this is by far the best Thai/Food in general. All hand made and super clean. In the old clock tower building you won't be disappointed. Family run place so family works there. I am with this place!
Great lunch today at Pattaya Sushi and Thai restaurant. The fresh rolls were very good. My mother loved her sushi and I truly enjoyed the Pad See Ew. I love their Pad Thai as well. Very obviously a family run restaurant. Some might not like that but having grown up in family run businesses I applaud the family teaching their kids hard work, how to run a business etc.
I came in around 130pm and I was the only patron, which had me slightly worried.
I was also worried because the restaurant had photos of all of the food plastered all over the walls. Chef Ramsay says that if a restaurant has good food that they never need to showcase it via photos.
The other thing that worried me was the constant use of the microwave... Was anything fresh? When was the food prepared?
Since I came in for a quick lunch I ordered the chicken satay and a dragon roll, hoping to get an idea of the restaurant and decide if it was worth returning to in the future.
The chicken satay was tasty, the peanut sauce was chilled while the chicken was piping hot. I enjoyed this.
The dragon roll on the other hand...the rice was soggy and there was a LOT of rice. The eel on top was of good quality, that was nice. I can't say that I really enjoyed the roll due to the mushiness of the rice.
However, I will come back because I do want to try the pad thai and the pad woon sen in the future. I just won't be ordering sushi from here again.
