Pier 88 Boiling Seafood & Bar Avondale

The flavor of the boil was out of this world! Most places like this lack the flavor because it's too watered down. We ordered crayfish, potatoes,sausage and corn-on-the-cob mix and it was great. The fried oysters were delicious.

Mel (at the bar) is GOOD! Talkative and was a pleasure!

Definitely going again!

First time here and had high expectations since reviews looked good and had a high rating. I wasn’t extremely disappointed, but I felt like it needed some work. We ordered a couple of apps…Cajun fries, fried calamari and hush puppies…those were all really good! Their cocktail and tartar sauce were on point! We then got our pound of shrimp, head on with medium spice and their 88 sauce, which is all sauces combined. I felt there was no flavor or spices to it. I guess I’m just comparing to Hot and Juicy sauce which is absolutely bomb and you can taste all the seasonings and it has that touch of sweetness that I love! I think they definitely need to work on their seafood boil sauces to take them to the next level! Other than that, the shrimp were big and cooked well. It also comes with a corn and potato, which is nice because most places charge for extras. Definitely will go back, but maybe have a po’boy or basket instead of the bag seafood. Also, our server Daphne was awesome!!

Excellent food and service!! Total vibe with the music & exceptionally clean restaurant. We will be back for sure!! Chrisy was a great server, friendly and attentive.

Out for dinner, during a work week and we decided to try Pier 88. This was our first time eating here. I ordered their Fried Shrimp basket with Cajun Fries, the husband ordered the Fried Catfish basket with Cajun Fries and he 'added' The Boiling 1/2 pound Crawfish. The food was great, everything was nice and hot. We did not have to wait long for our food and there was not a crowd. As we are walking out of the restaurant, we were already talking about another visit, to try other food items on their menu. No take out boxes at this table!

First time here.The place was great. Food was delicious!! Mike our server was awesome. We really enjoyed our small talks. Thanks for such an amazing experience.
